Life at Western is exciting and rewarding. It can also be demanding. Staying healthy – physically and mentally - will help you achieve your academic and career goals. Western offers many medical, health and wellness services and resources for undergraduate and graduate students and for faculty and staff. Our goal is to help create a healthy learning and working environment.

- Campus Recreation - Get active, keep fit and have fun.
- Chiropractic - On campus Chriropractic services are available to the Western community from Dr. Neil A Burden and Associates.
- Health Insurance - All Western community members are required to have up to date health insurance coverage.
- Dental Clinic - Western's Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry has a Dental Clinic where patients are selected based on the requirements of the educational program.
- Laboratory Services - Western has a LifeLabs clinic on campus, offering a broad range of community laboratory tests.
- Massage Therapy - Massage therapy is available at three locations on campus at Western.
- Optometry - Campus Vision provides eye exams, glasses, sunglasses and contact lenses.
- Physiotherapy - Health Services at Western offers on-site physiotherapy for students, staff and faculty.
- Pharmacy - The University Pharmacy provices prescription services, over the counter remedies, cosmetics, gifts and cards.

- Speech and Hearing - The H.A. Leeper Speech and Hearing Clinic at Western is part of the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders and provides hearing assessments, hearing aid accessories and fitting services.
- Sport Medicine - Fowler Kennedy is an internationally recognized centre for sports and exercise medicine.
- First Aid and CPR training is available through SERT - the Student Emergency Response Team.
Living Well @ Western
Want to be well and live well at Western? We have some ideas for you.
Living Well @ Western is a cross-campus initiative designed to encourage and promote a wide variety of physical, cultural, and intellectual activities to improve health and wellness at Western.
Based on a survey of all faculty and staff at Western conducted in January 2015, 81% of respondents indicated that they are looking for more physical activity to be well and 59% said they are looking for new approaches to stress management. Living Well @ Western has responded by developing a series of activities (many are free), open to faculty, staff and students who are looking to be more active and reduce stress levels. More events will be added in the coming months.Free Rec Centre Access for Faculty and Staff for Reading Week
Western Sports and Recreation Services invites all faculty and staff members to try out the Western Student Recreation Centre during Reading Week. Free access will be available from Monday (Family Day) to Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, and you can join any fitness class offered during the day. Wellness Calendar
The goal of Living Well @ Western is to have others on campus join the movement, initiate activities or promote all the good things already happening here at Western that will help us to live well. Many of these activities are already posted on Western Events Calendar.Retirement Planning
Offered through Western's Human Resources Office, these Full-Day Financial and Pre-Retirement Planning Workshops are aimed at members aged 45 plus who are considering retirement within the next 10 years. The sessions are facilitated by an external consultant who will lead an unbiased discussion of the role of the Western pension, government pensions and private savings in retirement income planning.
